Who We Are
Hayden Woodward
I’m a Project Manager, and unofficial photographer for The Wandering Woodward.
I like to ensure we get value for our money; there’s no reason why you can’t have amazing experiences on a budget.
To that end, I have converted two VW Crafters; one back in 2019, and one in 2024, so that myself, Sophie, and our dog, Lucy, can explore the world in a home away from home.
I leave the majority of the writing to Sophie, but I always make sure to capture plenty of photos when we’re away to help bring our posts to life.
When travelling, I enjoy taking in the cultures around me, particularly through trying local foods (although Sophie insists on dragging me to McDonalds!).
Historic sites are of particular interest to me, so you’ll always see one or two crop up on our trips.

Sophie Woodward
By day, I’m a Senior Mechanical Engineer, and by later day, I’m a travel blogger.
I started out with package holidays and beach resorts, content to stay by the pool and not explore the surrounding area. Hayden introduced me to the world of cheap flights and budget accommodation, which truly ignited my love for travel. Now, I embrace the thrill of exploring diverse cultures, breath-taking landscapes, and unforgettable adventures.
Inspired by the travel blogs I used to plan my own trips, I founded The Wandering Woodward to give back by sharing my own experiences. As a fan of the written word, I take great pride in carefully crafting each blog post. I strive to balance personal anecdotes with practical information, offering readers both entertainment and useful tips.

My favourite thing about travelling is meeting new people and I believe the best way to greet them is by jumping up at them (but my pawrents do their upmost to prevent that).
I enjoy being at home with all my creature comforts and unlimited naps, but when I am made to go travelling, my favourite things are eating fresh snow, going for long runs on the beach, and begging for scraps under the table.
